​Working With Landowners

​Our approach recognizes both the value of ecosystem benefits and the role of landowners in protecting natural lands. Our goal is to work with and support landowners to keep ecosystem benefits intact and functioning, as well as to help the public understand and appreciate both the value of coastal ecosystems and the importance of supporting the landowners who steward these natural lands and the benefits that they provide to us all.

Donations to TCX will be used to provide grant support to landowners whose properties are providing ecosystem benefits like carbon storage, flood mitigation, and wildlife habitat. This support will enable a transition from an agrarian community that is being crushed under the pressure of a changing world into one that is vibrant, adaptable, and sustainable for generations to come. 

Over 8 Million Acres Of Texas Coastal Lands Are Undeveloped 

And most of these undeveloped areas are privately owned. Because of this fact, landowners are the key to the conservation of natural areas on the Texas coast. This is why we work with and support the landowners that are protecting the ecosystems that support us all.
